About
On this page, you will find UI designs from challenges I have recently done. I learned so much from each project and I enjoyed it a lot. I am already looking forward to the next challenge.
My design thinking process
Challenges
An app for managing tasks
In this challenge, I decided to do something different, so I created an app that helps users taking care of their plants by accomplishing a few daily tasks like watering a plant. Since different types of plants demand different kinds of care, the app helps users manage their plant tasks by following each specific plant needs. This way, each plant will get the right amount of water and trimming, for example.
In addition, I decided to add a place to inform the user about their plants’ characteristics and also a forum to ask questions about plants getting help from the app community.
Solving the problem of long waiting times in lines at Disneyland
With a virtual queuing system in Disneyland, users could be virtually waiting for different attractions or rides and still have fun while they wait. They would get a notification when is almost time for their ride with directions for that attraction so they can get there in time without getting lost in the park. This will solve the pain of crowded attractions and wasting time waiting in long lines not having fun.
Users can also access information about each attraction on the go and get to know beforehand what to expect and if it is kids-friendly or temporary closed.
A business management dashboard for freelancers
For this challenge, I selected the five most important things for freelancers to manage their business better and I added them to the dashboard. They are:
Project timeline for managing the progress of each project;
Tasks timer to keep track of the time spent on each task and project;
Cash flow to help freelancers have a better visualisation of their money and easily manage their income, expenses and overdue;
Client meetings to remind them of important appointments made with different clients;
Active clients as a shortcut for communicating with clients from ongoing projects.
A health-related app where users can make an appointment
In this challenge, I designed an app that users could find the best dietitian or nutritionist for their needs and make an appointment with them.
A credit card checkout process of a website
In this challenge, I designed a credit card checkout page for a beauty shop. I divided the screen into two columns intending to always leave the order details showing up on the right while the user fills up information about the account, shipping and payment on the left side step by step.
In order to give the user peace of mind, right before making the payment I left on the screen all the relevant information about the order including shipping details already filled up in past steps. This way it is easier for the user to double-check all the order details and make the payment with confidence. In addition, it might even avoid minor mistakes.
An app that helps manage an event or events
This challenge was focused on helping users manage one big event: their wedding. The app allows users to book all the products and services for their wedding and manage their bookings, expenses and appointments. It is also possible to keep track of their budget by checking how much was spent on each product or service.
An app that uses gamification
My idea for this challenge was to build a very unique app that combines gamification with music. The goal was to create a platform where all people from a public or private event could share their songs and participate in the decisions of what music plays next. The gamification motivates users to get the crown and stay on the top by adding songs and likes to keep the party going. People’s likes can change the music queue which means that the more likes a song gets, the quicker it plays on the event. The user who gets more songs right pleasing everybody’s taste stays on the top for longer and wins the game.
